Death Toll Rises to 12 Palestinians Amid Escalating Israeli Aggression in Jenin

Occupied Jerusalem – The Israeli occupation forces continue their assault on the city and refugee camp of Jenin in the occupied West Bank for the fourth consecutive day, resulting in the deaths of 12 Palestinians and injuries to over 40 others. The aggression has also caused widespread destruction to infrastructure and property.

The large-scale attack, which began on Tuesday, has displaced nearly 2,000 residents to nearby villages and inflicted significant damage on the city’s infrastructure. Local sources reported to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) that Israeli forces have burned homes in the Jenin refugee camp, preventing civil defense teams from extinguishing the fires.

Residents inside the camp have been subjected to a strict curfew, with hundreds of families forcibly evicted from their homes under threat of violence. The occupation forces have funneled these displaced individuals through a single checkpoint, where biometric scans of their eyes and faces were conducted.

Continued Violence and Siege

On Thursday night, five Palestinians were injured by gunfire as Israeli forces carried out ongoing raids in the area. Vice Governor of Jenin, Mansour Al-Saadi, stated in media interviews that the Israeli occupation has blocked all four entrances to the city and the camp using dirt mounds, preventing movement in and out of the area.

Al-Saadi highlighted the severe challenges faced by patients and medical teams at Jenin’s government hospital due to power outages and fuel shortages caused by the aggression. The Israeli forces have also conducted airstrikes in tandem with ground raids, further exacerbating the suffering of Palestinian residents.

Humanitarian Crisis Escalates

The continuous assault has not only claimed lives but has forced hundreds of families to flee their homes, creating a growing humanitarian crisis in Jenin. With critical infrastructure destroyed and essential services crippled, the situation is deteriorating rapidly.

The international community faces mounting pressure to intervene and hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its violations of international law and human rights in Jenin.
