Algerian Parliamentary Speaker Leads Preparatory Committee Meeting on French Nuclear Tests in Algeria

Algiers – The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, chaired a meeting on Sunday to discuss preparations for a study day dedicated to the topic “French Nuclear Tests in Algeria: A Crime Against Humanity and the Environment,” scheduled to be held in the province of Adrar, according to a statement from the legislative body.

The statement revealed that the meeting focused on reviewing the final arrangements for this significant event. Discussions highlighted the readiness of reception facilities and the logistical resources necessary to ensure the smooth conduct of the study day under optimal conditions. The meeting also addressed plans for media coverage, aiming to maximize awareness and underscore the importance of the topic.

Furthermore, the committee discussed preparations for another study day titled “Cancer in Algeria: Reality and Prospects for Patient Care,” which is set to take place on February 11, 2025, at the Assembly headquarters. This event will address the current state of cancer treatment in Algeria and the challenges faced in providing adequate care for patients.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Health, Social Affairs, Labor, and Vocational Training Committee, Mr. Saïd Hamsi, along with several Assembly officials, as noted in the same statement.
