President Tebboune Orders Acceleration of Grain Silo Construction Projects

Algiers – During a Council of Ministers meeting on Sunday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune praised the progress made in the construction of grain storage silos in preparation for the upcoming harvest season. These silos are expected to reach a storage capacity of 5 million tons for the first time. The President instructed that the remaining silo projects be expedited to bolster Algeria’s food security strategy.

In a statement released by the Presidency of the Republic, it was noted that President Tebboune directed the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development to ensure the rapid completion of all unfinished silos to strengthen national grain storage capabilities.

Additionally, the President called for the expansion of silo construction to other municipalities that consistently produce large quantities of grain, emphasizing the importance of supporting regions with significant agricultural output.

This directive is part of Algeria’s broader efforts to enhance its food security infrastructure and ensure a more resilient agricultural sector.
