UNRWA Affirms Continued Operations Despite Zionist Ban

Geneva – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reaffirmed on Thursday its commitment to providing aid to millions of Palestinians in the occupied territories, despite the implementation of the Zionist entity’s ban on its activities.

In a statement on its social media platforms, UNRWA declared:
“We continue to provide assistance and services to the communities we serve,” according to the United Nations Office in Geneva.

The agency also emphasized that its clinics remain operational across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and that humanitarian operations in Gaza are ongoing.

Zionist Escalation Against UNRWA

In October last year, the Zionist Knesset passed two laws aimed at terminating UNRWA’s operations in territories under its control and banning official contact with the agency. As part of this crackdown, the Zionist entity also ordered UNRWA to vacate its offices in East Jerusalem and halt its activities there by January 30.

However, in a separate statement on social media, UNRWA confirmed that it had not received any official notification regarding the implementation of these restrictive laws.

UNRWA Stands Firm Amid Uncertainty

UNRWA’s Director of Communications, Juliette Touma, told The Guardian that the agency’s headquarters in East Jerusalem remains intact, adding:
“Our flag is still flying, and we have no plans to shut down our operations, but we are operating under uncertainty.”

The Zionist-imposed ban poses a direct threat to life-saving humanitarian aid, as well as education and healthcare services for millions of Palestinians in the occupied territories—a concern that the United Nations has repeatedly warned against.

Despite the escalating pressures, UNRWA continues to defy these unjust measures, ensuring that Palestinian refugees receive essential services amid growing challenges.
