Coordination Meeting Held in Algiers Between the National Office for Copyright and the World Intellectual Property Organization

Algiers – A coordination meeting was held on Thursday in Algiers between the Director-General of the National Office for Copyright and Related Rights, Samir Thalabi, and the Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) external office in Algeria, Mohammed Salik Ahmed Othman, according to a statement from the Office.

The statement highlighted that this meeting, which took place at the Office’s headquarters, reflects both parties’ commitment to strengthening intellectual property rights and promoting innovation and creativity. It served as an opportunity to enhance cooperation between the two institutions and activate several joint files, including the national strategy on intellectual property, the Intellectual Property Academy, training and awareness programs, as well as the “ART” initiative and mediation-related projects. Structural and technological initiatives were also discussed during the session.

According to the same statement, the meeting also focused on preparations for upcoming activities planned in celebration of World Intellectual Property Day, observed annually on April 26. This year’s theme will revolve around music.
