Cairo – The Arab League reaffirmed its steadfast stance against the forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their land, urging local and international civil society to continue supporting and upholding the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. The league emphasized standing alongside Palestinians in their struggle to achieve their rights, reclaim their land, and establish an independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
This statement was made by Ambassador Hيفاء أبو غزالة, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the Arab League, during the tenth annual conference of the Egyptian Businesswomen Association, held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo under the theme: “Technological Development Supporting Women’s Economic Growth.”
In her speech, Abu Ghazala highlighted that the Arab League places significant emphasis on economically empowering Arab women, considering it a key driver of sustainable development and a cornerstone of national economies. She noted that the league collaborates with international and regional organizations to implement programs aimed at promoting gender equality and enhancing women’s economic rights.
The Assistant Secretary-General also mentioned the preparation of the Regional Strategy for Women, Peace, and Security and its executive action plan titled “Protecting Arab Women: Peace and Security,” which were adopted in September.
