Algiers – Algeria’s Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Guedri, received a delegation from Qatar Pharma on Monday in Algiers, led by its Chairman, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Hai Al-Sulaiti, who expressed the company’s keen interest in investing in Algeria, according to a statement from the ministry.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry’s headquarters, discussions focused on investment opportunities in Algeria. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening Algerian-Qatari cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, aiming to reach the same level of partnership already achieved in other key sectors.
The minister reaffirmed Algeria’s readiness to collaborate with Qatar in pharmaceutical manufacturing, highlighting the strong political will of both countries’ leaders to establish successful partnerships. He also stressed the exchange of expertise and knowledge, particularly in the production of innovative medicines, while encouraging strategic partnerships with Algerian stakeholders to benefit from the new investment law’s incentives and advantages.
For his part, Al-Sulaiti expressed Qatar Pharma’s intention to invest in Algeria, affirming the company’s readiness to explore all partnership opportunities with Algerian firms to foster industrial integration in the pharmaceutical sector, according to the ministry’s statement.
This potential investment reflects Algeria’s growing attractiveness in the pharmaceutical industry, reinforcing its ambition to become a regional hub for medicine production and innovation.
