Algiers – The high-level inter-ministerial committee responsible for organizing the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), scheduled to take place from September 4 to 7, 2025, in Algiers, has been officially installed, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion.
The installation ceremony took place on Thursday at the SAFEX Exhibition Center in Pins Maritimes, presided over by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Mohamed Bouchari, in the presence of senior officials from the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Minister’s Office, and various ministerial sectors and national institutions related to the event.
On this occasion, the minister emphasized that the fourth edition of the IATF is a major African event, expecting the participation of 15 heads of state, 2,000 exhibitors, 35,000 visitors, and delegations from 140 countries.
Bouchari also highlighted that the estimated trade volume during the fair is expected to reach $44 billion, with Algeria aiming to attract at least 10% of that figure, leveraging its additional contribution to the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
Strategic Opportunity for Algeria
The minister called on all stakeholders to fully mobilize efforts to ensure the success of this historic African trade event—the first of its kind in Algeria. He stressed that the fourth edition of the IATF represents a strategic opportunity to enhance intra-African trade, allowing Algeria to strengthen its position among emerging economies by 2027.
During the meeting, eight subcommittees and eleven thematic committees were also established to oversee various aspects of the fair, including:
- Investment and Trade
- Innovation and Artificial Intelligence
- Special Program Days
- Cultural Event CANEX
- Youth Program
- Virtual African Trade Exhibition
- B2B, B2G, and G2G relations
Several other side events and activities will also be organized alongside the main exhibition, according to the statement.
