Algiers – The public textile and leather group “GITEX” achieved a turnover of nearly 20 billion Algerian dinars (DZD) in 2024, marking a 15% annual growth, according to a statement by a senior official of the group.
The Deputy General Manager, Samia Gaid, stated in an interview with the Algerian Press Agency (APS) on the sidelines of the opening of “Jackets Club,” a subsidiary of GITEX, at the Bab Ezzouar shopping center on Tuesday evening, that the group successfully met its target of 20 billion DZD for the previous year. It now aims to exceed this figure in the current year.
After noting that GITEX has experienced steady growth in recent years, the official emphasized that the public group now relies on a combination of quality and competitive pricing to meet market demands. She stressed its commitment to adhering to international standards in creativity and product development.
Ms. Gaid also highlighted future projects, including partnerships with foreign operators, particularly in innovation, research, and development.
Expanding Product Range and Targeting International Markets
In this context, GITEX is working to expand its product range, especially women’s clothing, while developing men’s collections to align with youth aspirations. The group is also targeting international markets in the medium term.
“Jackets Club” Continues Its Expansion
For his part, Toufik Maouch, CEO of “Jackets Club,” the commercial arm of GITEX, told APS that the opening of the store at the Bab Ezzouar shopping center represents an additional step to strengthen the presence of the company’s products in the national market.
Mr. Maouch noted that the company currently operates 25 stores across the country and is working on opening new outlets in shopping centers soon, including in Khenchela, Oran, and southern provinces, as part of a gradual expansion program aligned with a strategic marketing plan.
Regarding the company’s prospects, Mr. Maouch explained that the priority is to strengthen the position of locally produced goods in the domestic market before focusing on exports. He added that “Jackets Club” is currently negotiating with several parties to enter foreign markets.
The company benefits from a wide distribution network thanks to its factories spread across the country, as well as digital marketing initiatives, including the launch last month of an online platform in partnership with the startup “Dyar Dzad.”
Digital Transformation and Innovative Services
Abdelraouf Saigi, CEO of “Dyar Dzad,” explained that since its launch, the platform has expanded the distribution reach to include all provinces of the country. It allows customers to purchase GITEX products in installments over three months without any price increase.
He added that the agreement between “Dyar Dzad” and GITEX includes providing 11 key services, such as developing specific strategies for retail stores, conducting periodic market trend studies, and determining product pricing.
This article highlights the significant progress made by GITEX in expanding its operations, enhancing product quality, and leveraging digital tools to boost its market presence both locally and internationally.
