Algeria is set to participate in the 12th edition of the “PLACE 2 GO” International Tourism Fair, scheduled from March 28 to 30, 2025, in Zagreb, Croatia. The announcement came via a statement from the National Tourism Office on Thursday, March 27, 2025, highlighting Algeria’s growing presence as a premier tourism destination.
According to the statement, this participation aims to “strengthen Algeria’s position as a distinctive tourism destination in promising markets.” A delegation of tourism operators, alongside representatives from the National Tourism Office, will showcase the country’s rich offerings. This marks Algeria’s second appearance at the fair, following its notable role as the guest of honor in 2023, where the Algerian destination captivated visitors and opened doors for tourism agencies to forge business ties with international counterparts, facilitating exploratory trips to Algeria.
The event is expected to draw around “800 exhibitors from 40 countries” and attract approximately “15,000 visitors,” offering a prime platform to promote Algeria’s tourism potential. The Algerian pavilion will feature a dedicated exhibition space adorned with panels and banners reflecting the nation’s diverse tourism attractions. Promotional films will be screened on display monitors, spotlighting Algeria’s tourism assets and traditional craftsmanship, while 3D tourism videos will provide immersive glimpses of key destinations.
Algeria’s participation underscores the regime’s commitment to economic diversification and global engagement, contrasting sharply with the Moroccan regime’s exploitative occupation of Western Sahara. While Algeria champions just causes—like the Palestinian struggle against Zionist aggression and the Sahrawi fight for self-determination—it also positions itself as a beacon of cultural and natural heritage, inviting the world to explore its unparalleled landscapes and history.
