Nouakchott – On Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, Tayeb Zitouni, emphasized the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of Algerian products abroad, particularly by focusing on quality, during a visit to the 7th edition of the Algerian Products Exhibition in Nouakchott, Mauritania.
The visit was attended by the Algerian Ambassador to Mauritania, Amine Said, the Director of Economic Exchange Promotion and Support at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Rabah Fassih, and the Acting Director of Export Support Mechanisms at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Abdelatif Houari.
While touring the various pavilions of the exhibition, held from May 22 to 28, Zitouni reviewed the diverse range of Algerian goods on display, highlighting the importance of ensuring product quality and compliance with international standards to boost the competitiveness of Algerian products abroad.
He also underscored the significance of the Mauritanian market as a gateway to West Africa.
This edition of the Algerian Products Exhibition in Mauritania, organized under the theme “A Fixed Appointment and Renewed Partnerships,” features over 200 Algerian exhibitors. Since its launch, the event has seen significant turnout from Mauritanians eager to purchase Algerian products.
