UNRWA Confirms Continuous Aid Flow as Only Way to Prevent Worsening Humanitarian Disaster in Gaza

Gaza – On Sunday, May 25, 2025, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that the “only way” to prevent the escalation of the current humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is through an “effective and continuous” flow of aid, nearly three months after the ongoing Zionist blockade tightened its grip on the sector.

The statement was made in a post by the UN agency on social media, as Gaza continues to suffer a catastrophic humanitarian and relief crisis since the Zionist entity closed the crossings on March 2, 2025.

UNRWA stressed that Palestinians in Gaza can no longer wait for aid to enter, noting that the sector requires at least 500 to 600 aid trucks daily, managed by the United Nations. It reiterated that the “only way” to avert the worsening of the crisis is through a sustained and effective aid flow.

Notably, 58 citizens have died due to malnutrition, and 242 others due to a lack of food and medicine—mostly the elderly and children—during the 80 days of the Zionist blockade.

The occupation continues its systematic starvation policy against approximately 2.4 million people in Gaza by closing crossings to aid piled up at the borders since March 2, pushing the sector into famine. In recent days, it has expanded its genocidal war in Gaza, announcing ground offensives in the northern and southern parts of the sector.

Since October 7, 2023, Zionist occupation forces have been waging a genocidal war in Gaza, resulting in over 176,000 Palestinian casualties, including martyrs and wounded—mostly children and women—and more than 11,000 missing persons.
