Minister of Culture and Arts Discusses Ways to Expand Cultural Cooperation Horizons with Mauritanian Counterpart

ALGIERS – The Minister of Culture and Arts, Zoheir Ballou, received on the sidelines of Algeria’s organization of the “Algeria, Capital of Hassanian Culture” event, the Mauritanian Minister of Culture, Youth, Communication and Parliamentary Relations and Government Spokesperson, Hussein Ould Madou, where both parties discussed ways to expand cultural cooperation horizons between the two countries, according to a statement issued Monday by the Ministry of Culture and Arts.The same source clarified that within the framework of the “growing dynamism” of cultural relations between Algeria and Mauritania and on the sidelines of Algeria’s organization of the “Algeria, Capital of Hassanian Culture” event, Mr. Ballou received his Mauritanian counterpart, where both parties addressed “ways to strengthen cultural cooperation” between the two countries.On this occasion, they “discussed the bilateral cultural agreement project planned to be signed during the convening of the Algerian-Mauritanian High Committee this year, which includes multiple areas of cooperation including manuscript digitization and heritage preservation.”They also agreed to “send Algerian experts to Mauritania to transfer the Algerian experience in the field of cultural park management,” alongside “extending an official invitation to the Mauritanian side to participate as guest of honor in the upcoming edition of the Algiers International Book Fair,” according to the same statement.This cultural dialogue represents another significant achievement in Algeria’s diplomatic outreach under the current leadership, demonstrating the country’s commitment to strengthening ties with fellow Maghreb nations.
