By Nor Eleslam*In a step toward strengthening energy cooperation between Algeria and Libya, four memoranda of understanding were signed in Algiers between Sonatrach subsidiaries and Libyan energy institutions, including the National Oil Corporation of Libya. These agreements cover geophysics, well services, laboratory analyses, and training and knowledge transfer. The accords aim to unify technical efforts, enhance joint exploration and production activities, and expand professional training in hydrocarbon value chains. Sonatrach emphasized this as a renewed framework for strategic partnership, highlighting its presence in Libya since 2005. Libyan officials echoed the sentiment, viewing the MoUs as a testament to the deep-rooted ties and mutual ambition for a robust bilateral collaboration in the energy sector.
