President Abdelmadjid Tebboune confirmed during his regular meeting with representatives of the national media that Algeria’s foreign exchange reserves are experiencing slight improvement, enough to cover the country’s imports for nearly a year and a half. This stability reflects Algeria’s solid financial position in the face of global economic turbulence and stands as further proof of the state’s prudent economic management.
The President explained that the Central Bank has taken all necessary measures regarding the tourism grant, even though the process took time to implement. To date, around 450,000 Algerian citizens have benefited from these grants, with the total amount allocated reaching nearly 400 million euros. This initiative underlines the government’s commitment to ensuring that Algerians can enjoy their right to travel and tourism under decent financial conditions, despite international financial pressures.
In relation to religious travel, President Tebboune announced that Algerian pilgrims will receive a grant of 1,000 US dollars, as part of state measures designed to support citizens in fulfilling the sacred duty of Hajj. This reflects the government’s continued policy of prioritizing social welfare and ensuring accessibility to fundamental national and spiritual rights.
