Algiers, September 27, 2025 – The Algerian Academy of the Arabic Language has released a new volume titled “Artificial Intelligence and Its Applications”, featuring ten specialized scientific articles on AI, translated into Arabic.
This publication is part of the Academy’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the presence of the Arabic language in scientific and technological research. The articles, authored by international experts in the field, cover a range of topics related to the applications of artificial intelligence in various sectors.
The translations were carried out by members of the Academy’s translation committee — Omar Lahcen, Saleh Khanour, Taher Loucif, and Souhila Mribai — alongside AI specialist Rami Bououdhen, under the supervision of committee chairwoman Saida Kahil.
According to the Academy, the book aims to bridge the knowledge gap between global scientific output and what is accessible to Arabic readers. By making the latest developments in AI available in Arabic, the initiative seeks to empower local researchers, students, and professionals to engage with cutting-edge technologies in a language they master, enhancing their ability to adapt these innovations to Algeria’s socio-economic context.
The 360-page book inaugurates the Academy’s new series “Corridors of Science”. It includes diverse chapters such as “The Historical Perspective and Foundational Challenges of Generative AI”, “AI in the Workplace: Human-Machine Collaboration”, and “Critical Approaches to AI Technologies in Interpretation and Translation.”
In its introduction, the Academy highlighted the decision to focus on artificial intelligence as a reflection of its pivotal role in shaping the digital era, with wide-ranging implications for education, healthcare, linguistic security, labor, mathematics, and ethics. The initiative also seeks to make scientific knowledge more accessible to Arabic-speaking scholars and readers, reinforcing Algeria’s commitment to positioning Arabic as a language of science and innovation.
