The Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival officially announced the conclusion of registration for participation requests on February 28, 2026. Just one month after opening submissions, more than 2,000 films from 101 countries have been registered for the sixth edition.
According to a statement from the organization, the films received by the festival management are characterized by great diversity in terms of cinematic genres, languages, artistic visions, and cultural backgrounds. These include feature-length and short films, documentaries, and experimental works, reflecting the richness of the Mediterranean and international cinematic landscape and confirming the confidence of filmmakers in the festival as a prominent venue for showcasing their work.
The statement noted that all films selected to participate in the festival’s competitions will be Algerian premieres. This reflects the festival management’s commitment to providing new cinematic content to the Algerian public and enhancing the value of discovery and artistic excellence.
Furthermore, the Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival continues to solidify its position as an international space for cinematic dialogue, supporting serious cinema, encouraging new talent, and promoting cultural exchange between Mediterranean countries while remaining open to global experiences.
