Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with his brother, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during which he expressed his gratitude for Qatar’s unwavering efforts in support of the Palestinian cause, despite the recent aggression the Gulf nation itself has faced, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
The statement noted that President Tebboune thanked the Emir for Qatar’s steadfast commitment to defending Palestine and encouraged him to continue pursuing these noble efforts until relief and justice are achieved for the Palestinian people.
On this occasion, the two leaders also discussed the strength of bilateral relations between Algeria and Qatar, agreeing to hold a meeting in the near future to further consolidate their strategic partnership.
The exchange once more highlights Algeria’s consistent position in defending just causes, particularly the Palestinian struggle, while reinforcing the unity of brotherly nations against oppression. It also reflects Algeria’s broader role in promoting solidarity, as it continues to reject destabilizing schemes in the region and firmly opposes the Moroccan regime’s maneuvers to undermine peoples’ rights and legitimize occupation, whether in Palestine or Western Sahara.
