Algeria’s Minister of Labour Emphasizes Digital Services Upgrade
Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, recently chaired a review meeting focused on the National Fund for the Equalization of Social Services (FNPOS). The meeting, held at the ministry headquarters, was part of a series of evaluations designed to monitor the performance of agencies under the sector’s supervision.
According to a statement released by the ministry, Minister Saihi underscored the importance of these evaluation meetings. He highlighted that they are integral to a participatory approach aimed at ensuring the implementation of sector recommendations and tracking project progress. This, in turn, enhances the quality of public service and improves institutional performance. The Minister emphasized that these gatherings provide an opportunity to assess efforts and refine operational mechanisms within a comprehensive vision.
During the meeting, the Director-General of the Fund presented a detailed overview of completed activities, assigned tasks, and future projects planned by the Fund within a clear strategic framework. This framework is designed to address emerging challenges and meet the expectations of citizens.
Minister Saihi issued several important directives, stressing the need for continuous improvement in the services provided by the Fund. He emphasized the adoption of modern digital systems to accelerate the response to user requests and ensure efficient performance. He also called for streamlining administrative procedures and unifying efforts to enable citizens to obtain their rights promptly and effectively.
The Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening digital infrastructure by developing user-friendly electronic platforms. These platforms should enable citizens to interact directly with the Fund’s services and address their concerns remotely, efficiently, and quickly. This push for digital transformation is a key element in modernizing Algerian social services.
Furthermore, Minister Saihi directed the preparation of a strategic plan for the period 2026-2030. This plan should embody a new vision for managing the Fund’s services, relying on the launch of innovative digital tools to facilitate citizens’ access to various services. The approach should be comprehensive, based on transparency, efficiency, and improved performance quality. The goal is to make social services more accessible and responsive to the needs of the Algerian population.
In closing, the Minister affirmed the central administration’s commitment to supporting and assisting the National Fund for the Equalization of Social Services in its pursuit of achieving the sector’s strategic objectives. He emphasized the importance of working with a sense of responsibility and integration between the ministry and various supervised bodies to ensure an effective response to citizens’ concerns and to establish the principle of effective public service. This commitment signifies a renewed focus on improving social services in Algeria through digitalization and strategic planning, ensuring better outcomes for citizens seeking assistance. The emphasis on digital services and streamlined processes aims to improve the overall efficiency and accessibility of social support programs.
