Algiers, October 29, 2025 – Minister of Communications, Zohir Bouamama, has affirmed that the current generation is committed to keeping pace with rapid technological advancements and the evolving landscape of digital media, while upholding principles of professionalism and integrity.
Speaking at a dinner hosted by Algerian Television yesterday evening, commemorating the 63rd anniversary of the nation’s reclaiming of sovereignty over radio and television, Minister Bouamama stated that the occasion provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue between veteran media professionals and the new generation driving technological progress.
“This day symbolizes the determination of the pioneering Algerian media figures who rose to the challenge following the establishment of the radio and television institutions,” the Minister emphasized. He characterized the anniversary as a historical milestone, representing the restoration of Algeria’s national voice and image, and the beginning of a new era in building a free media sector dedicated to serving the aspirations of the Algerian people.
Minister Bouamama extended his congratulations to all employees of radio and television, praising their dedication to fulfilling their vital role. He further noted that the anniversary coincides with National Press Day and the anniversary of the outbreak of the Liberation War, reinforcing a spirit of loyalty to the nation and a commitment to fostering a free and responsible national media landscape.
