Algiers – The Algerian housing and urban development sector is set to receive a substantial financial injection, according to details emerging from the proposed 2026 budget. Minister of Housing, Urban Development, and City Planning, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, announced that the sector has been allocated over DZD 614.5 billion in commitment authorizations.
The Minister further revealed that payment appropriations are expected to reach nearly DZD 860 billion. This considerable financial commitment underscores the government’s dedication to addressing the growing demand for housing across the country.
“This significant allocation will allow us to progressively meet the increasing housing needs of our citizens,” Minister Belaribi stated. The funds are earmarked for a range of projects, including the construction of new residential units and the revitalization of existing urban areas.
