Algeria and the Czech Republic have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration in civil protection and major risk management. This commitment was underscored during a meeting held this Saturday at the National Training and Intervention Unit, where the Director-General of Algerian Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Boughlaf, received the Director-General of the Czech Republic’s Fire Rescue Service, General Vladimir Vlček, and his accompanying delegation.
General Vlček’s visit to Algeria is aimed at bolstering bilateral cooperation in the crucial areas of civil defense and disaster preparedness. According to a statement released by the Algerian Civil Protection, the visit is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen professional partnerships and facilitate the exchange of expertise between the two nations. This follows a working visit by the Director-General of Algerian Civil Protection to the Czech Republic last December, which laid the foundation for advanced cooperation between the respective institutions.
During the meeting, a comprehensive presentation was delivered detailing the organizational structure and operational capabilities of the Algerian Civil Protection. Both sides engaged in valuable discussions, sharing experiences related to intervention methods and rescue operations in emergency situations. The Czech delegation’s itinerary includes visits to the Directorate-General headquarters and the National Operational Coordination Center. Furthermore, they will observe a field exercise in the Bouira province, focused on enhancing the capabilities of search and rescue teams.
The exercise aims to improve coordination and skills for disaster response.
The statement emphasized that this visit reflects the shared desire of both Algeria and the Czech Republic to strengthen cooperation and improve readiness levels in the face of various natural, technological, and other major risks. Both nations are committed to protecting their citizens.
This partnership highlights the importance of international collaboration in ensuring safety and security.
