Algeria and Iran to Expand Cooperation on Labor and Social Security

Algeria and Iran have expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of labor and social protection. This commitment was affirmed during discussions between Algerian Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, and the Iranian President’s Special Assistant for Social Affairs, Ali Rabiei.

The two officials emphasized their readiness to intensify coordination and broaden the scope of collaboration to serve the mutual interests of both nations and reinforce the strong fraternal ties between Algeria and Iran.

During the bilateral talks held on Thursday, Minister Saihi outlined Algeria’s social policies designed to benefit various segments of society. He underscored the government’s dedication to developing the labor and social protection systems to promote justice and solidarity.

The discussions centered on ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in areas of shared interest. The meeting was attended by the Algerian Ambassador to Qatar, Saleh Attia, and members of both delegations.

The talks took place on the sidelines of Minister Saihi’s participation in the Second World Social Development Summit, held in Doha, Qatar, from November 3rd to 7th, 2025.
