Scholars Honored at Algiers International Book Fair Closing

Algiers, Algeria – The Algerian Muslim Scholars Association (AMSA) recognized a group of esteemed scholars, professors, and religious figures at the closing ceremony of the 28th Algiers International Book Fair (SILA). The honorees were celebrated for their significant contributions to the AMSA’s successful participation in the event.

According to the AMSA, the recognition extended to those scholars who actively contributed to the association’s pavilion. This included those who made notable appearances, personally signed and promoted their scholarly and intellectual publications, and presented thought-provoking cultural and intellectual seminars, notably a seminar focusing on Palestine.

The association noted that the majority of the honorees attended the closing ceremony. However, some were absent due to prior commitments or unforeseen circumstances. Dr. Ammar Talbi was unable to attend due to travel, while Dr. Abdul Razzaq Qasoum was occupied with pre-existing obligations. Dr. Abdul Qadir Fadil was absent due to health reasons, and the AMSA extended its wishes for his speedy recovery.

In a special gesture, the AMSA also honored Sheikh Mohammed al-Mamoun al-Qasimi, Dean of the Grand Mosque of Algiers, in recognition of his efforts in serving the authentic national reference. The association also expressed its deep appreciation for the administrative and organizational staff of the 28th edition of SILA, congratulating them on the event’s success. A medal of appreciation was presented to the Book Fair’s Commissioner, Mohamed Iguerreb, acknowledging his outstanding contributions.
