Governor Reshuffle Announced Across Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has enacted a partial reshuffle within the ranks of governors and delegated governors across several Algerian provinces. The changes, implemented in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution, involve both the termination of current appointments and the reassignment of officials to new roles.

Notably, the duties of Mr. Mustapha Kourich, Governor of Mila Province, have been terminated. Several governors have been reassigned to different provinces, including:

  • Fodil Douifi from Laghouat to Adrar
  • Mohamed Benmalek from Batna to Laghouat
  • Agoun Houria from Guelma to Bouira
  • Chibani Samir from Oran to Guelma
  • Ali Moulay from Tipaza to Beni Abbes
  • Abdelkrim Laamouri from Bouira to Annaba
  • Ibrahim Ouchen from Blida to Oran
  • Faisal Amrouch from In Guezzam to Mila
  • Djamel Hasshass from Beni Abbes to Blida

Furthermore, new governors have been appointed to several provinces:

  • Noureddine Refsa, Delegated Governor of Dar El Beida, as Governor of In Guezzam
  • Amine Ben Chaoulia, Delegated Governor of Sidi M’Hamed, as Governor of Tipaza
  • Ben Ahmed Riad, Delegated Governor of Bou Saada, as Governor of Batna

The duties of Mahfoud Bouzertit, Delegated Governor of Cheraga, have also been terminated.

In addition to these changes, several new delegated governors have been appointed:

  • Abdel Fattah Ben Kerkoura, Secretary-General of Setif, as Delegated Governor of Cheraga (Algiers)
  • Mahrez Maamri, Secretary-General of Constantine, as Delegated Governor of Dar El Beida (Algiers)
  • Zidi Abdelmalek, Inspector-General of Algiers, as Delegated Governor of Sidi M’Hamed (Algiers)
  • Zouggari Nacer, Secretary-General of Biskra, as Delegated Governor of El Kantara (Biskra)
  • Boughezza Djamel, Secretary-General of Boumerdes, as Delegated Governor of Bir El Ater (Tebessa)
  • Omrani Attal, Secretary-General of Illizi, as Delegated Governor of Bou Saada (M’Sila)
  • Ben Baba Ali Abdelkrim, Head of Ghazaouet District, as Delegated Governor of Lariche (Tlemcen)
  • Khelfaoui Hamid, Head of Boudouaou District, as Delegated Governor of Ksar El Boukhari (Medea)

These changes represent a significant restructuring of provincial leadership, suggesting a renewed focus on local governance and regional development. The reasons behind the reshuffle have not been officially disclosed, but analysts suggest it may be aimed at improving efficiency and addressing local concerns across the affected provinces.
