Iran Claims to Dismantle US-Israeli Spy Network

Tehran, Iran – Iranian authorities announced today the dismantling of an alleged spy network, claiming it was directed by intelligence agencies of the United States and Israel. The announcement comes months after a 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel.

According to a statement released by the intelligence wing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and broadcast on state television, the operation successfully “uncovered and dismantled a cell hostile to Iran’s national security, which was operating under the direction of American and Israeli spy agencies.”

The IRGC intelligence unit stated that the operation was carried out in a coordinated manner across several provinces. However, the statement did not provide further details regarding the specific locations or the number of individuals detained.

The alleged network’s discovery follows a period of heightened tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States. Last June, Israel reportedly launched unprecedented strikes against Iranian targets, resulting in casualties, including senior officers and nuclear scientists. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks on Israel, causing fatalities.

The United States, a key ally of Israel, also participated in the conflict by conducting air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, before a ceasefire was brokered on June 24th. In recent months, Iranian authorities have announced numerous arrests and executions of individuals accused of spying for Israel. Furthermore, in October, the Iranian parliament passed legislation to increase penalties for those convicted of collaborating with foreign intelligence services, particularly those of the United States and Israel.
