Israeli Forces Conduct Multiple Incursions into Quneitra, Syria

QUNEITRA, Syria – Israeli military forces conducted three separate incursions into the Quneitra region of southwestern Syria today, marking a continuation of such operations that have been ongoing for several months.

According to reports, the first incursion involved a patrol of three vehicles originating from the Al-Hamidiyah checkpoint and moving towards the village of Al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah. The patrol reportedly established a checkpoint between the villages of Umm Batna and Jba, conducting searches of passing civilians.

Earlier in the day, two additional incursions were reported. The first, similar to the later incident, involved forces moving from Al-Hamidiyah towards Al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah. The second involved four vehicles entering the village of Al-Mushairifa.

The Syrian government has yet to officially comment on the nature or consequences of these incursions. However, Damascus has consistently condemned what it considers repeated Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty. Syrian officials maintain their commitment to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, despite Israel’s declaration that the agreement collapsed following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024.

The frequency of Israeli incursions into the Quneitra region has reportedly increased recently. Local Syrian residents have expressed concerns over the incursions, citing damage to agricultural lands that represent their primary source of income, the destruction of forested areas, arbitrary arrests, and the establishment of military checkpoints.

The Quneitra region remains a volatile area, with ongoing tensions between Syria and Israel.
