The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) announced its full lineup of films for its 46th edition, scheduled to take place from November 12th to 21st. This year’s festival will showcase approximately 150 films from across the globe, distributed across 11 different competitions and cinematic programs.
The festival promises a rich and diverse program, blending competitive entries with special screenings, offering a comprehensive cinematic experience that celebrates both global and Arab creativity. The lineup includes a wide array of genres and styles, reflecting the festival’s commitment to showcasing the best in contemporary cinema.
The film distribution is as follows: International Competition (14 films), Official Selection Out of Competition (15 films), Critics’ Week Competition (8 films), Arab Cinema Horizons Competition (9 films), Short Film Competition (24 films), Special Screenings Program (18 films), International Panorama (18 films), Midnight Screenings (5 films), Cairo Classics (12 films), Restored Egyptian Films (21 films), and Egyptian Panorama Out of Competition (6 films).
This extensive diversity underscores the Cairo International Film Festival’s position as one of the oldest and most prestigious festivals in the Arab world and Africa. It remains the only film festival in the region to hold a Category “A” accreditation from the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
With such a full program, Cairo is gearing up to welcome filmmakers and film enthusiasts alike for a nine-day celebration of artistic expression, reaffirming the festival’s leading role in the regional and international film landscape.
