Digitalization Key to Labor Inspection Coordination, Says Minister

Algiers – Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, has emphasized the critical role of digitalization in strengthening coordination between labor inspectorates and various institutions. The Minister underscored that adopting a digital approach is essential for eliminating bureaucratic hurdles and fostering transparency within the labor sector.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security highlighted the Minister’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness in labor oversight. Minister Saihi believes that a digitally-driven system will streamline communication, facilitate data sharing, and enhance the overall responsiveness of labor inspectorates to the needs of both employers and employees.

“Digitalization is no longer an option, but a necessity,” stated Minister Saihi. “By embracing digital solutions, we can create a more agile, transparent, and accountable system that benefits all stakeholders. This initiative will significantly reduce red tape and improve the business environment, while simultaneously ensuring the protection of workers’ rights.”

The Ministry’s plan involves the implementation of a comprehensive digital platform that will enable real-time data exchange between labor inspectorates and institutions. This platform will facilitate the electronic submission of reports, online applications for permits, and the creation of a centralized database of labor-related information. The goal is to create a more efficient and user-friendly system that reduces administrative burdens and promotes greater compliance with labor laws.

The move towards digitalization is part of a broader government effort to modernize public administration and improve service delivery. By embracing technology, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security aims to create a more dynamic and responsive labor market that supports economic growth and social development.
