Minister Saioud Holds Key Meetings with Governors

Algiers, November 12, 2025 – Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and National Planning, Said Saioud, has commenced a series of crucial meetings with the governors of four key provinces to assess the implementation of supplemental development programs mandated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The Minister initiated this evaluation process today, presiding over the inaugural meeting dedicated to gauging the progress of the supplemental development program for the province of Djelfa. The meeting was attended by the Governor of Djelfa, Djahid Mous, as well as the Delegate Governors of the administrative districts of Ain Oussera and Messaad. Senior directors from Djelfa’s executive branch and central ministry officials also participated in the discussions.

DZWatch understands that these meetings form part of an ongoing effort to monitor the pace of local development and evaluate the advancement of the supplemental development programs initiated by the President. These programs specifically target the provinces of Djelfa, Tissemsilt, Khenchela, and Tindouf.

The focus of the meetings is to identify any bottlenecks or challenges hindering the effective implementation of these programs and to formulate strategies for accelerating progress. The Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring that these development initiatives translate into tangible benefits for the citizens of these provinces.

Sources within the Ministry indicate that Minister Saioud will be holding similar meetings with the governors of Tissemsilt, Khenchela, and Tindouf in the coming days. These discussions are expected to delve into the specific challenges and opportunities within each province, allowing for a tailored approach to development implementation.
