Algiers, Algeria – The Grand Mosque of Algiers welcomed the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today. The President’s visit is part of his official state visit to Algeria.
Mohamed Maamoun al-Qasimi al-Hassani, Dean of the Grand Mosque of Algiers, received the Somali President. President Mohamud was accompanied by Yacine Oulid, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries, during his tour of the religious landmark.
The President and his delegation were given a comprehensive overview of the mosque’s architectural significance and its role as a prominent center for religious and scholarly activities. The Grand Mosque of Algiers stands as a testament to Algeria’s rich religious and cultural heritage.
