Firefighters Battle Blaze in Tipaza’s Arhat Forest

TIPAZA, Algeria – Civil Defense units are currently engaged in firefighting operations in the Arhat forest of Tipaza province, DZWatch has learned. The fire, which broke out earlier today in the Boukhlidja area of Arhat municipality, Damous district, prompted a swift response from emergency services.

The operation commenced at approximately 10:30 AM local time. Authorities have deployed significant personnel and equipment to contain the blaze and prevent its spread to surrounding areas. 82 personnel of various ranks are involved in the firefighting efforts, supported by 17 fire trucks specifically equipped for tackling wildfires and open-area blazes.

DZWatch understands that firefighters are working tirelessly to fully extinguish the fire and minimize further damage to the surrounding vegetation and any nearby properties. The steep terrain and dry conditions are posing challenges to the teams on the ground.
