Tipaza, November 14, 2025 – The Algerian state will provide compensation to those affected by the recent fires that ravaged several areas within the Tipaza province. This assurance comes directly from Amel Mokrani, the head of the Forest Wealth Protection Department in Tipaza.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Mokrani stated that a specialized committee would be dispatched to assess the material damages incurred as a result of the widespread fires. The purpose of this assessment is to determine the appropriate level of compensation for those who have suffered losses.
“Efforts to extinguish the fires that have spread across Tipaza have been ongoing since yesterday,” Mokrani explained. “All available material and human resources have been mobilized to combat the blazes.”
Mokrani highlighted the specific characteristics of Tipaza’s forests as a contributing factor to the extent of the damage. She noted that the forests are densely populated and interspersed with agricultural land, making them particularly vulnerable.
Furthermore, Mokrani pointed to the challenging terrain, strong winds, and a lack of rainfall as factors that exacerbated the spread of the fires. These conditions, she explained, made it difficult to contain the flames and contributed to the significant damage observed across the affected regions.
The government’s commitment to compensating the victims underscores its dedication to supporting communities impacted by natural disasters. The rapid deployment of the assessment committee signals a swift response aimed at alleviating the hardship faced by residents of Tipaza.
