West Bank: Palestinians Wounded as Israeli Raids Intensify

Tensions remain high across the West Bank as Israeli forces continue a campaign of raids and incursions. Last night, a Palestinian man was shot and wounded by Israeli forces in the village of Burqin, west of Jenin. This incident occurred just hours after another Palestinian was wounded by gunfire in Beit Furik, east of Nablus.

The ongoing military operations have targeted several areas, including the city of Tubas, the Al-Far’a region, the towns of Aqqaba, Qabatiya, and Al-Kafeer. According to media reports, a young Palestinian man was also arrested during a raid in the southern part of Hebron.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces stormed Burqin, deploying throughout the streets and pursuing young men. Soldiers allegedly opened fire, resulting in the injury of one individual. The wounded man was reportedly detained by the soldiers, who initially prevented Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics from providing medical assistance. The Red Crescent later confirmed that the man was transferred to a hospital with a leg injury.

Earlier, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that their teams treated an 18-year-old Palestinian who had been shot by Israeli soldiers in Beit Furik. He was also transferred to a hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident, dozens of residents in the village of Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya, south of Nablus, suffered from asphyxiation due to tear gas inhalation during an Israeli raid on Friday evening. Reports indicate that Israeli soldiers fired tear gas canisters indiscriminately towards homes, causing damage to several vehicles. The army also imposed restrictions on movement in and out of the village for over three hours, setting up checkpoints at the eastern and northern entrances.

These events are part of a broader pattern of increased Israeli military activity in the West Bank. Raids and arrests were also reported in Beit Rima, north of Ramallah, and in the Al-Far’a refugee camp, south of Tubas.
