Algeria and Qatar are deepening their bilateral cooperation in the fields of labor, employment, and social security. Abdelhak Sayhi, the Algerian Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, met with the Qatari Ambassador to Algeria, Abdul Aziz Ali Al-Naama, to discuss ways to enhance collaboration between the two nations.
During the meeting, Minister Sayhi expressed his pride in the strong historical ties between Algeria and Qatar. He emphasized that the meeting aimed to foster practical cooperation through the exchange of ideas and consultations. Sayhi also highlighted Algeria’s commitment to providing comprehensive social protection for all segments of society, ensuring the dignity of workers, and maintaining a balance between the rights of workers, employers, and the government’s role.
The Minister underscored Algeria’s dedication to strengthening its partnership with Qatar through joint projects and programs, including technical and training seminars, as well as the signing of bilateral cooperation agreements. These agreements will focus on exchanging expertise and enhancing capabilities in employment, digitalization, and social security.
Ambassador Al-Naama lauded the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries, affirming Qatar’s desire to exchange experiences and expand cooperation, particularly in labor, social protection programs, and human resource development. He noted that the alignment of visions between the leadership of both countries provides a solid foundation for strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Both parties explored practical proposals to activate future cooperation, including reciprocal field visits for experts, joint workshops, and the development of digital mechanisms for exchanging information and expertise between relevant bodies.
Minister Sayhi reiterated his ministry’s readiness to work with the Qatari side to create a model partnership that benefits both nations. The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the positive and ambitious spirit of the discussions, affirming Qatar’s commitment to continued coordination and consultation with Algeria, and the implementation of practical steps in the near future to reflect the strong will of both leaderships in building sustainable and comprehensive cooperation that strengthens the historical ties between the two countries.
