Algiers law enforcement has dismantled a sophisticated criminal network involved in trafficking narcotics and psychotropic substances. The operation, conducted by security services in the Algiers province, followed a period of intensive investigation and surveillance of the network’s members.
The raid resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illicit substances. Authorities confiscated over 9,000 hallucinogenic tablets, half a kilogram of cocaine, and one and a half kilograms of other narcotics.
Six individuals, identified as key players within the organization, were apprehended by police. Notably, three brothers were among those arrested. These siblings allegedly played a central role in coordinating the promotion and transportation of the prohibited materials.
The successful operation represents a significant blow to drug trafficking activities within the capital and underscores the commitment of Algerian law enforcement to combating organized crime. Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the network’s operations and identify any additional individuals involved.
