Israeli Forces Conduct Incursion into Southern Quneitra, Syria

Israeli forces conducted an incursion into the village of Saida al-Julan in the southern Quneitra region of Syria earlier today. The incursion, involving five military vehicles, reportedly penetrated the area before withdrawing a short time later.

This incident follows a series of similar actions in recent days. Yesterday, Israeli forces reportedly entered the area west of Khan Arnabeh in northern Quneitra, where they allegedly detained four Syrian citizens. Another incursion was reported on the outskirts of Ma’arriyah village, located within the Yarmouk Basin area, west of Daraa province.

These actions are viewed by some as violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, international law, and relevant United Nations resolutions. The Syrian government has consistently condemned these incursions, calling on the international community to take a firm stance to halt them.

The repeated incursions raise concerns about the stability of the region and the potential for escalation. The long-term impact of these actions on the already fragile security situation remains to be seen. The area is prone to tensions due to its proximity to the occupied Golan Heights.

DZWatch will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available. Stay tuned for further developments.
