Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers today, Sunday, focusing on regional advancement and the progress of vital national projects. The meeting, held at the Presidential Palace, addressed the elevation of several administrative districts in the High Plateaus and Southern regions to fully-fledged provinces.
According to a statement released by the Council, the discussions centered on the necessary steps to grant these districts full provincial status, empowering them with greater administrative and economic autonomy. This initiative aims to foster balanced regional development, create new opportunities for local populations, and improve the overall quality of life in these areas.
“The President emphasized the importance of ensuring a smooth transition for these newly established provinces,” the statement noted, “stressing the need for adequate resource allocation and capacity building to enable them to effectively carry out their responsibilities.”
In addition to regional development, the Council of Ministers reviewed the progress of ongoing projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, energy, and agriculture. Ministers presented updates on the status of these projects, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions.
