Algiers – The National Construction Movement (Mouvement El Binaa El Watani) has addressed the recent UN vote concerning Palestine, reiterating Algeria’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. The movement’s statement comes amidst ongoing developments in the region and seeks to clarify Algeria’s position on the matter.
On Tuesday, the 18th of November, 2025, the National Construction Movement hosted a delegation of leading figures from various Palestinian factions officially represented in Algeria. This meeting was part of a series of engagements aimed at discussing the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, particularly the implications of the recent Security Council resolution regarding the future of the Gaza Strip, its humanitarian needs, and reconstruction efforts.
The delegation included representatives from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Hamas, and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine. They were received by Abdelkader Bengrina, President of the National Construction Movement, along with other senior party officials.
During the meeting, the President of the Movement reaffirmed Algeria’s steadfast support for the rights of the Palestinian people and its rejection of any infringement upon their historical rights. He emphasized that Algeria will remain a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
In its statement, the National Construction Movement addressed its position on the Algerian vote on the UN resolution concerning the repercussions of the war on Gaza, emphasizing the following:
1. The UN resolution is based on a plan previously approved by Palestinian factions, and Algeria worked to introduce significant improvements to it, preserving Palestinian principles and reflecting Arab and Islamic consensus.
2. The Movement expresses its confidence in Algeria’s consistent position on Palestine and rejects attempts to cast doubt on it, originating from parties seeking to justify their inaction or tarnish Algeria’s image.
3. The Movement considers Algerian support for Palestine an integral part of the Algerian state’s ideology, stemming from the principles of the revolution and the values of sovereignty and liberation.
4. The Movement lauded Algeria’s role in the Security Council.
