Algiers, October 21, 2025 – Minister of Health, Mohamed Seddik Ait Messoudane, met with the Ambassador of Palestine to Algeria, Fayez Abu Aita, at the ministry headquarters today. The meeting, attended by several senior officials from the central administration, focused on strengthening Algerian support for Palestinian healthcare.
Minister Ait Messoudane reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering commitment to defending just causes, with the Palestinian cause at the forefront. He reiterated Algeria’s unconditional support for the Palestinian people in their struggle to regain their legitimate rights and establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
During the meeting, both parties discussed mechanisms for integrating Palestinian students into Algerian health institutions to benefit from Algerian expertise. The Minister emphasized the readiness of his department to provide comprehensive care for Palestinian patients residing in Algeria across all health facilities. This commitment, he stated, underscores the deep-rooted bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two nations and solidifies the distinguished historical relations between Algeria and Palestine.
Ambassador Abu Aita expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation for Algeria’s steadfast and principled stance, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause in various regional and international forums. He emphasized that Algeria has been, and continues to be, a strong advocate for Palestinian rights, recalling Algeria’s embrace of the declaration of the establishment of the Palestinian state on its soil in 1988.
Abu Aita further noted that this position is not surprising given Algeria’s history. He added that the Palestinian people draw inspiration from the glorious Algerian revolution in terms of steadfastness and freedom. The meeting served as a powerful reminder of the enduring solidarity between Algeria and Palestine.
