The President of the National People’s Assembly, Brahim Boughali, has affirmed the critical role of education in national progress, emphasizing the Algerian state’s unwavering commitment to its schools as cornerstones for cultivating informed and responsible citizens.
Speaking at a parliamentary session titled ‘Cadet Schools: A National Model for Inspiring and Developing National Schools,’ Boughali highlighted Algeria’s strategic prioritization of education since its independence. He noted the establishment of free and compulsory education as a fundamental principle, recognizing its vital contribution to socio-economic development.
Boughali specifically praised the nation’s cadet schools as exemplary models of equal opportunity, excellence, and discipline. These institutions, he stated, welcome talented students from across the country, fostering a generation deeply rooted in national pride, committed to their identity, and dedicated to the ideals of the nation’s heroes.
He further elaborated that these schools draw inspiration from the historical ‘Revolution Cadets’ schools, which nurtured a generation devoted to the nation and freedom. Today, they continue this legacy in a contemporary context, addressing modern challenges while blending tradition with technological advancement.
Boughali also commended the Ministry of National Defense for its contributions to education and training, recognizing the military institution as a model of discipline and character development. He advocated for greater collaboration between the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education, the Algerian Academy of Sciences, and other stakeholders in the educational sector. The goal, he said, is to formulate a comprehensive educational policy that places the upbringing of future generations at the forefront of national priorities.
