Russian Northern Fleet Ships Stop at the Port of Algiers

A group of ships from the Russian Northern Fleet docked at the Port of Algiers on Wednesday, as part of the implementation of the Algerian-Russian military cooperation program for the year 2026.

According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the docked vessels include the anti-submarine ship “SEVEROMORSK” and the oil tanker “KAMA,” for a stopover lasting four days.

During this stopover, the mission commander and his accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Central Maritime Zone at the naval base headquarters in Algiers, within the First Military Region. The statement added that the talks addressed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the Algerian and Russian navies.
