President Tebboune Orders Specialized Medical Hospitals

Constantine, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has issued directives for the establishment of specialized medical hospitals across the nation. The announcement, made during a visit to Constantine on Thursday, underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering the national healthcare system.

While presiding over the groundbreaking ceremony for a new 500-bed university hospital in Constantine, President Tebboune emphasized the need to create specialized medical hubs. These centers will focus on providing advanced treatment in areas such as neurology, neurosurgery, and cardiology. He affirmed that such facilities would significantly strengthen the country’s healthcare infrastructure.

“Algeria possesses considerable capabilities and enjoys credibility, which has attracted the interest of numerous developed nations in the medical field to collaborate with us,” the President stated.

President Tebboune also stressed the importance of providing swift and effective care for critical cases requiring immediate medical intervention. He highlighted Algeria’s existing partnerships with countries like Germany in the medical sector, adding that Algeria “will receive the necessary assistance to advance specialized medical fields.”

He further noted that while building large hospitals is standard practice, the real need lies in training specialized doctors from Algerian universities. “Graduating approximately 13,000 specialized doctors is what we need, especially when Algeria currently graduates 13,000 general practitioners annually,” he explained.

The initiative aims to address the growing demand for specialized medical services and reduce the need for Algerians to seek treatment abroad. The government hopes that these specialized hospitals will transform Algeria into a regional leader in healthcare.
