President Tebboune: Housing Sector Key to Algeria’s National Development

Constantine, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed on Thursday that the Algerian housing sector’s current progress positions it as a leading indicator of the nation’s economic development. The President made the statement during a visit to Constantine, where he received updates on the region’s development initiatives.

Following presentations on Constantine’s development, including plans to modernize the old city and various sectoral projects, President Tebboune emphasized the vital role of housing. “The renaissance in Algeria’s housing sector makes it a prominent economic indicator for national development,” he stated.

He further added, “We are continuously working to improve the situation, and I am personally committed to providing governors with all the necessary support to effectively manage housing projects.” The President highlighted the government’s dedication to addressing housing needs and ensuring project completion.

President Tebboune also addressed past concerns regarding the housing sector. “Many predicted that the housing file would cause Algeria’s collapse, but the opposite has happened. We are managing this file effectively, meeting the aspirations of our citizens,” he said, noting that housing project execution is now almost entirely Algerian.

The President’s remarks underscore the government’s focus on housing as a critical component of Algeria’s broader economic strategy and its commitment to providing adequate housing for its citizens. The ongoing efforts aim to solidify the housing sector’s contribution to national progress.
