Cairo – The Arab Parliament has welcomed the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of several resolutions supporting the Palestinian cause, passed with overwhelming majorities.
In a statement released today, the Arab Parliament highlighted the significance of these resolutions, particularly those reaffirming the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. Furthermore, the Arab Parliament expressed its appreciation for the renewal of the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). “The extension of UNRWA’s mandate is vital for the well-being and stability of Palestinian refugees who rely on the agency for education, healthcare, and other essential services,” a spokesperson for the Arab Parliament stated. “We urge the international community to continue its support for UNRWA to enable it to fulfill its critical mission.”
