Heavy Snow and Rain Expected Across Several Algerian Provinces

DZWatch has received reports from meteorological services indicating a significant weather event expected tomorrow, Saturday, impacting several provinces across Algeria. Citizens should be aware of potentially hazardous conditions.

The northern regions are forecast to experience thunderstorms, particularly in the central and eastern areas. Snowfall is anticipated in mountainous regions exceeding 900 meters in altitude.

Provinces expected to receive rainfall include: Boumerdès, Tizi Ouzou, Béjaïa, Sétif, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf.

Snowfall is predicted to affect the following provinces: Aïn Defla, Tissemsilt, Blida, Médéa, Boumerdès, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Béjaïa, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Jijel, Sétif, Batna, Skikda, Constantine, Oum El Bouaghi, Khenchela, Guelma, and Souk Ahras.

Strong winds are also expected in Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf, with gusts potentially reaching up to 70 km/h. Residents in these areas should secure loose objects and exercise caution while traveling.

Coastal temperatures are expected to range between 14 and 17 degrees Celsius. Inland areas will experience temperatures between 6 and 17 degrees Celsius. The southern provinces are forecast to have sunny weather with temperatures ranging from 13 to 33 degrees Celsius and wind speeds up to 30 km/h.
