Gaza: Israeli Airstrikes Claim Lives, Dozens Wounded

Gaza City – At least 22 Palestinians have been killed and numerous others wounded in a series of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to reports from local hospitals.

The strikes targeted areas including Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, and Nuseirat, resulting in a surge of casualties at overwhelmed medical facilities. Reports indicate that nine bodies were transported to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, four to Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat, and nine to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.

Witnesses reported that one airstrike hit a vehicle near Al-Abbas intersection in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to others. Another strike reportedly targeted a residential building on Al-Lababidi Street in the Al-Nasr neighborhood, west of Gaza City, killing four and wounding several more.

Casualty figures are continuously being updated as rescue efforts continue. Access to some areas remains difficult, hampering the ability of emergency services to reach potential victims trapped under the rubble.

Medical sources have stated that the overall death toll in Gaza has tragically reached at least 69,733, the majority of whom are women and children, since the start of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023. The number of injured has reportedly surpassed 170,863.

The ongoing conflict has placed immense strain on Gaza’s already fragile infrastructure and healthcare system. DZWatch will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.
