Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, Heads to Brussels for 5th Annual High-Level Energy Dialogue Between Algeria and the European Union

Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, is set to undertake a working visit to the Belgian capital, Brussels, on October 4th and 5th, 2023. This visit is part of the proceedings of the 5th annual high-level meeting for the energy dialogue between Algeria and the European Union.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Arkab will lead, alongside the EU Commissioner for Energy Affairs, Kadri Simson, this fifth annual meeting scheduled for October 5th, 2023, in Brussels.

This fifth meeting is within the framework of the dialogue mechanisms established by the strategic partnership between Algeria and the European Union in the field of energy. The aim is to address various topics of mutual interest, review progress in energy cooperation, and discuss prospects arising from the last meeting held in Algiers on October 10th, 2022. This includes areas such as supplying Europe with natural gas, electrical interconnection, renewable energies, hydrogen development, as well as renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Moreover, this meeting is part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Strategic Partnership between Algeria and the European Union in the energy sector, signed in Algiers in 2013. The memorandum aims to develop and enhance energy-related relations while respecting the interests of both parties.
