New Call Center Opens in Ouargla, Creating 400 Jobs

Ouargla, Algeria – A significant step towards developing the digital services sector was taken today with the inauguration of a joint call center. The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, presided over the opening ceremony of the center, which integrates the services of Algérie Poste, Mobilis, and Algérie Télécom.

Located in the Beni Thour area, the new facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology designed to handle customer requests nationwide. This initiative aims to improve service quality, expedite response times, and standardize communication processes across the three public institutions.

Minister Zerrouki emphasized that this project is part of a broader national vision to establish a sophisticated call center industry. The government aims to create 10,000 jobs by 2027 and generate $150 million in revenue that same year, with projections reaching $1.2 billion and 300,000 jobs by 2029 through further expansion.

The Ouargla center will initially provide approximately 400 direct jobs, with the potential for gradual expansion. This approach supports decentralization and aims to make the south of Algeria an attractive destination for digital investment.

The Minister added that the sector will continue to support the establishment of modern call centers throughout the country, focusing on developing human skills and providing the necessary training to deliver professional services that meet international standards.

This initiative positions Ouargla at the forefront of digital employment and solidifies its role as a key hub in the national technology investment landscape.
