Oran, Algeria – A notorious gang operating within a residential area of Oran’s Es Senia district has been dismantled by the National Police’s Major Crimes Unit.
According to a statement released by Oran police, seven suspects have been apprehended in connection with the gang’s activities. A significant cache of prohibited bladed weapons was also seized during the operation.
The operation was launched following credible intelligence received by law enforcement, indicating a series of repeated assaults perpetrated by a group of individuals. In response, a specialized unit initiated an investigation that successfully identified the gang members, pinpointed their locations, and led to their subsequent arrest.
Searches conducted at the residences of the detained individuals resulted in the confiscation of a considerable number of prohibited bladed weapons of various types and sizes. Authorities believe the gang members were concealing these weapons for use in carrying out their criminal plans.
Following the completion of legal procedures, a case file has been prepared against the detainees, and they have been presented before the competent judicial authorities. Pre-trial detention orders have been issued against them.
